Netizens poke fun of Zeinab’s incorrect grammar.

In an interview with spot[dot]ph, she and her husband, Ray Parks Jr., were asked to share their dream travel destination.

“‘Yung honeymoon trip na gusto talaga namin is from Europe,” Harake shared.

Ray responded, “Yes, we’re planning a trip to Europe.”

That’s why it immediately drew criticism from netizens because of its incorrect grammar, “from Europe.”

“‘Wag na sana mag-English.” a netizen advised Harake.

Zeinab, who had been dreaming of visiting Europe since she was 17, expressed her desire to go to Greece, in particular.

“Dream destination ko siya since I was seventeen because of the Descendants of the Sun k-drama and ‘yun talaga ang gusto kong ma-explore,” the vlogger stated.

Another netizen commented, “Zeinab wag na kasi mag english [crying emoji] pwede namang mag tagalog nalang eh okay lang yan di mo naman ikaka sosyal ang english nasa tono parin at pronunciation magkaka-alaman.”

There were also those who defended Zeinab, arguing that Filipinos are known for their perfectionist traits.

“Sa Pilipinas laging issue ‘yong English grammar, paano kung hindi forte ‘yong English? nakakawala na rin ng self esteem mag salita ng English kasi parang maraming naka bantay sa’yo,” a fan commented.

Zeinab has openly acknowledged her English language limitations.

In fact, during her wedding vows, she even sought Donnalyn Bartolome’s assistance to ensure she had the appropriate words to express her sentiments on her special day.

In the Philippines, using correct grammar is not only crucial for academic success but also essential for effective communication, career advancement, and maintaining cultural identity.
