Rufa Mae Quinto is mourning the loss of her estranged husband, Trevor Magallanes, who passed away in the United States due to an undisclosed cause.
The death of Magallanes was confirmed to ABS-CBN’s Push by a relative. However, the cause of death has not been disclosed and Rufa Mae has yet to confirm his death.
Despite their separation, the actress-comedian reflected on their shared experiences as a family with their daughter, Athena, through Quinto’s Instagram page on Thursday, July 31.
In May of this year, Magallanes’s last social media post was a brief video clip of his visit to the wind turbines in Oklahoma. In the video, the businessman was seen inside his black sedan, sporting a long hairstyle.
In December 2024, Rufa Mae and Trevor garnered public attention following the announcement of their separation. The couple, who exchanged vows in 2016, refrained from elaborating on the underlying reasons for their divorce.
Despite their pending confirmation, screenshots of their purported conversations gained widespread attention on social media platforms.
The conversation revealed Quinto requesting Magallanes to remove his “negative post” and imploring him to “listen” to her and provide support for Athena (Their Daughter).
Despite this, Quinto emphasized in a January 2025 interview that she does not harbor any regrets regarding her marriage with Magallanes. She further stated that their divorce proceedings have not yet been finalized at the time of the interview.
“At my age.. I am no longer hoping to find someone new. He is the last man I’d love.” Rufa Mae shared in an Interview.
“But if he already made up his mind [about the separation], I need to accept it. I have no regrets. He’s still the best.. Some things are just not perfect. But I’m happy that he is still there for our child.” Rufa Mae stated.
