The OWWA released a statement stating that OFW Wilma Auza 41, passed away due to cardiac arrest while returning home on a bus.

The planned surprise of an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) to her family turned into heartbreaking news when she tragically passed away on the bus, she was returning to Dumaguete, Negros Oriental.
OWWA confirmed that Auza had just completed her contract in Kuwait, tragically collapsed from cardiac arrest on August 4, 2025.
Auza had taken multiple flights.
The OFW, traveled from Nagoya, Japan to Manila on Sunday, August 3, based on the collected personal belongings and her boarding pass, boarded a bus to Cebu. From there, she boarded the Cebu South Bus to Negros Oriental.
A fellow bus passenger also shared a video of Auza on social media, mentioned that she felt sorry for the OFW because Auza appeared dizzy and vomiting during the trip.
She applied an ointment to alleviate Auza’s discomfort and leaned against the bus window, eventually falling asleep.
The conductor attempted to wake her up when he was about to collect Auza’s bus ticket, but she remained unresponsive.
Realizing that the OFW was no longer breathing, they promptly called the police for assistance.
OWWA Administrator Patricia Yvonne Caunan mentioned that they are gathering more information as reports emerged indicating that Auza had passed through other areas before reaching Dumaguete.
She stated : “We are finding out po kasi di naman po siya repatriated worker. Siya po ay umuwi because of end of contract. We are on the ground. We are going to release an update soon po.”
OWWA has informed that they are now collaborating with her family to offer support and financial aid.
They extended condolences to her family, offering financial assistance and welfare support through existing programs for families of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
