Marietta Subong, also known as Pokwang, skipped the GMA Gala 2025 to avoid criticism from netizens.
She also emphasized the efforts and expenses she will invest in attending the event, including makeup, dressing, and other necessary items to ensure she fits in.
A netizen inquired about the comedian’s absence at the GMA Gala 2025, and Pokwang promptly responded.
Netizen asked : “wala si mamang @pokwang27 sa #GMAGala2025 ano?”
Pokwang answered : “nagluto po ako ng paninda ko sa Mamang Pokwang’s gourmet meron po kasi deadline mga bulk na order po.
“attend ka ng [GMA] GALA gagastos ka e effort ka tapos lalaitin kapa ng tao hahahhaha edi magluto nalang ng paninda.” she added.
Some netizens agreed with Pokwang that the GMA Gala is merely a one-day event, but her business is far more important.

A netizen pointed out that Pokwang missed the event because it’s the 75th anniversary of GMA Network, which is a significant occasion worth attending.
