Renowned musician and songwriter Rico Blanco has unveiled his latest single, “Paalam,”.
A deeply resonant and emotionally charged composition has been swiftly interpreted by his devoted fanbase as a tearful reflection on his recent public separation from the esteemed actress-singer Maris Racal.
“Paalam” is an intricate orchestral ballad, translating to “Goodbye,” carries the weight of multiple farewells from Rico’s life.
The release of “Paalam” coincides with the official announcement of his breakup from singer-actress Maris Racal, which the latter disclosed during an emotional press conference held in July 2024.
On Friday, August 1st, Rico released a hauntingly spare yet exquisitely crafted ballad that captures the enduring impact of goodbyes in all its bittersweet and hopeful glory.
“Lahat ng mga pagkukulang / Sana’y patawarin / Hanggang sa dulo ng walang hanggang kitang mamahalin.” a part of the song goes.
Blanco revealed that the song had been in the works for years.
He shared : “Out of all the songs I’ve released, Paalam is the song that took me the longest to finish, some songs I finish in minutes, days, or weeks, but this one has been a work in progress for many, many years.”
